[PTX205REK rev.A5] Use of onboard RA4 to control external PTX205R with Config tool

Background

This page shows the needed HW modifications in order to use the RUL config tool to control a 205R in external boards.

PTX205REK rev.A5 board

available SPI pins on external PTX205R

HW modifications

in order for this setup to work the following modifications must be made on PTX205REK rev.A5:

  1. cutting “JP6”, this will separate the Enable line from the RA4 to the onboard PTX205R and connect onboard PTX205R Enable pin to ground

if the required, the PTX205REK rev.A5 board could supply voltage trough the PMOD; For this, the jumper "PMOD VDD TO VDD_IO JE" in the bottom of the board must be closed .

HW setup

To control an external PTX205R, the SPI lines must be available in the external board.

Using the PMOD connector we can now connect the onboard RA4 to the external PTX205R
